(St. Francois County, MO.) As the cases of coronavirus continue to climb locally, area hospitals are so far not having any issues. But that hasn't stopped officials with the St Francois County Health Department, and Parkland Health Center administrators, from discussing setting up a field hospital should it be needed. St. Francois County Health Department Executive Director, Amber Elliot, says a potential site has been discussed.
Elliot didn't say where the site would be if it's needed, but did say it would not be a National Guard site like that in St. Louis. There are 19 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the county. Elliot explains there are probably more, they just aren't confirmed.
