US Senator Roy Blunt Announces the US Air Force has Awarded Boeing $1.2 Billion Contract

(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri, a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, released the following statement after the U.S. Air Force awarded a $1.2 billion contract to Boeing for eight F-15EX aircrafts, which are manufactured in St. Louis.

"The F-15EX supports good-paying jobs in St. Louis and plays a vital role in helping our nation's military accomplish their missions. The F-15EX is a cost-effective aircraft that will ensure our armed forces can address rapidly evolving threats while avoiding capability gaps that no other tactical fighter in the inventory can fill. This announcement is great news for the hardworking men and women at Boeing St. Louis, and I'm proud of all they do to help our state lead the way in defense aviation manufacturing and innovation."

As a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, Blunt has helped secure resources for the F-15EX aircraft in defense funding bills.  Earlier this month, Blunt announced that the FY2021 National Defense Authorization Act includes $1.3 billion for 12 F-15EX aircraft.
