(Farmington, MO) Medical experts estimate that by the year 2020 there will be over 270,000 new cases of breast cancer in the United States and since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month they're getting the word out about the importance of screenings and regular check ups. An Oncologist with Parkland Health Center and Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Melissa Rooney, says they encourage women to come in for their annual screening mammogram.
Rooney adds typically they recommend women start screening for breast cancer about age 40.
