(Cadet, MO.) A Cadet man, 29 year old John Clapp Jr., is in the custody of Washington County Deputies after attempting to run from police. Records indicate deputies tried to make a traffic stop Sunday evening, June 9th at the intersection of Highway E and Bottom Diggins Road. Law enforcement officials say when they activated their emergency lights Clapp sped away. Deputies pursued Clapp's car onto Highway 47. Clapp's car was discovered wrecked in a ditch off 47 at Roderick Road. Clapp was identified using mail and other items in the car. He had fled on foot yet was later located and taken into custody. He's being held in the Washington County Jail.
