(Jefferson City, Mo) - Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced the first death in the state brought on by coronavirus.
The patient resided in Boone County and had tested positive on Tuesday for COVID-19.
According to Parson's Office, early Wednesday morning, the family called 911 to report a medical emergency. First responders arrived at the home and were wearing personal protective equipment when they contacted the patient.
The patient was rushed to MU Health Care where they later died.
The six emergency responders were isolated at the hospital and have been quarantined under medical supervision as a precaution for possible testing.'
