Legislature Back after Spring Break

(Jefferson City, MO) Missouri legislators begin the second half of the current session at 4 o'clock this afternoon in Jefferson City. One of the important issues among legislators is this year's budget. State Representative Mike Henderson says even though this past year was expected to bring very little to the state in financial resources, sales tax revenues were up.

Henderson also says the initiative petition measure, which has already passed the house and is now in the Senate for discussion, would give voters in the state the option to decide how difficult it would be to change our state constitution. Another big issue for the second half of the Missouri legislative session is that of a pay raise for the state's correctional officers.
