(Jefferson City, MO) Governor Mike Parson is extending the State of Emergency in Missouri, caused by COVID19, to the end of March 2021. The Governor made the announcement during his weekly update Thursday. Parson also says there won't be a statewide mask mandate coming from his office. Parson explains he's asking citizens to be responsible during the holiday season.
According to Parson it's up to Missourians, not the government, to make changes to our holiday celebrations to help fight COVID19.
Parson also addressed the rising number of coronavirus cases being accepted into hospitals in the state. According to Parson the problem is not running out of beds, it's running out of health care personnel as they become infected and are being quarantined. As a solution Parson says they may use military health staff or bring in health care workers from other states.
