(Bonne Terre, MO.) Those attending Mineral Area College soon will not have to endure a tuition increase after Thursday's MAC Board meeting. A new balanced fiscal budget for the College was approved by members of the school's board of trustees and part of the good news in the budget is that there will be no tuition increases for now. The president of the Board, Alan Wells, says college leaders have been working to increase enrollment and keep the budget on track.
At the meeting Wells adds board members were told enrollment efforts are doing well for summer headcounts and there are still 66 days left to work towards fall enrollment numbers. The E.M.T. and Paramedic program at the college hasn't been able to offer as many programs lately since the retirement of the program's coordinator. Wells says a new coordination group is back in place now and the program is getting back to normal.
