(Jefferson City, Mo) - Missouri Governor Mike Parson called on lawmakers to set aside $100 million in to use in case of financial emergencies during this State of the State address on Wednesday. Parson proposed the new savings fund as he outlined plans for next year's state budget and his policy priorities during a State of the State Address. The governor also talked about the state's infrastructure.
Parson also talked about the violent crime in St. Louis and Kansas City and how he wanted to help combat the crime. He talked about the state's workforce and education and proposed additional training for those who don't want to go to college. He also spent some time talking about government reform. In all, the governor's address lasted approximately an hour before a joint session of the State Legislature. The State of the State address was heard in its entirety on KFMO.
