(St. Francois County, MO) The fate of the Combined 911 Call Taking and Dispatch Tax now lies in the hands of County voters in the upcoming municipal election. Director of St. Francois County 911, Alan Wells, says voters need to understand that this tax isn't new.
Should county residents vote the measure down, Wells says that the county, and all of the cities within the county, would need to absorb the cost of those emergency services. Wells also notes the 3/8 of one percent sales tax does not apply to essential items such as groceries and medications. Voters will have the final say on April 6th. KFMO B104 News will provide election night coverage.
